Another scrappy done!

Saw one like this on Pinterest and added the picture to my folder of easy quilts to make....and it fit the bill just great.  Real easy to put together and easy to quilt with my "hearts and flowers' pantogram.

Of course, I just squeaked by  when I used the remnants of another backing...just left myself a couple of inches on the side and had to pin extra fabric in order to use the clamps to make the quilt a little tighter and less bouncy.  You can teach an old dog new tricks.

A man's quilt?

I saw this quilt done in Reproduction fabrics and really liked it.  It called for a jelly roll and a background fabric.  It turned out to be quick and easy to put together (my favourite kind for lap quilts)but when I had a look for a jelly roll in my stash , the only one I  had was a Kansas Troubles which is darker, more masculine in tone.  DH calls this one the "T" quilt.....works for me.

I bought a few new pantograms and this is one I was eager to use. I have no idea what it is called but it has hearts and flowers so that is what I am calling it.  It is a 12 inch panto and it finished up right near the bottom so I was a happy camper. I would have hated to have that last few inches with nothing in it, not that I would have allowed that to happen. Probably would have done some squiggles......yeah, I like squiggles.

Catching up on my quilting.

I finished quilting this panel and stars today with a pantogram of stars.  It was easy to align and not a difficult design to follow....all stars.
I have to admit that even though I like the pantogram (s) they are a bit boring to do in comparison to free motion quilting.  I do love to just let go and do swirls and loops and even some writing. I like the finished product enough but it is the "easy" way to do some quilting.
I debated long and hard over the binding on this one.  I have never bound a quilt in black before but this one just seemed to cry out for it.  Now that it is all finished it kind of reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright's classic stained glass designed houses.

I do like my swirls and feathers.

Next thing I'm going to have to do is set up my embroidery machine and make some labels for these quilts.
