Alittle more traditional!

Have you ever heard of a "shoebox" quilt?  Many years ago, what back when cotton fabric was 36 inches wide and rare as hen's teeth, a shoebox quilt was a reference to left over squares and border pieces from various quilts that were put in a shoebox for a "someday" quilt. Today we call them UFO's (unfinished objects) or PHD's (projects half done). I have a shoebox that is more like a trunk full of squares from various projects, class prototypes and just plain experiments that I really need to clear out.  This is one attempt at cleaning up.  Worked out pretty well, not my absolute favourite combination but it will be fun to quilt.  It will be number eight for the Chemo project and hopefully it will give some one warmth during a difficult time and maybe a moment of contemplation that will take their mind off their woes.

Pretty quilt top. Good of you to gift your work to cancer patients.
