This is only one side of what will be my sewing room. This is where I hand quilt my, and my daughter's, quilts. Sitting on top of the quilt is my dvd player and a few dvds. I like to watch and listen while I quilt. If it is not a movie then I listen to music and contemplate the cosmos while hand quilting. On the bottom picture you can see the baskets that I started organizing a little while ago. I cut the strips from 4 and 1/2 down to 1 and 1/2 inches and labelled the baskets. Trying to make it a little easier to scrap quilt. I find that I use half-square triangles more than any other technique I've ever done..perhaps with the exception of freezer paper applique and needle turn applique.
With regards to the room itself, as you can see there is no ceiling as of yet...hopefully in the not too far future there will be a suspended ceiling. You cannot see it, of course, but I have a gorgeous view out that window...of the valley, the Sussex bluffs and, just about every day, lots and lots of deer. Now all we need are a few antelope.

That is a great idea....using shelfs and baskets.I need a way to get things up of the floor.Thanks for sharing.
I am so jealous! I have been trying to convince my husband for YEARS to make our master bedroom my sewing room - and he just won't go for it...guess I'll have to wait until he finishes our basement and gives me my own room then.... :)
