I've been inspired.

If you are a member of the Canadian Quilter's Association, or your guild is, then you've seen this Newsletter. It's a great magazine....I look forward to receiving my copy quarterly.....this issue has an article that caught my eye and intrigued me.

It is by Kathleen Bissett and it's "Coffee Table Quilts"...what a great idea. She tells about the history of her patterns and , of course, the reason why....after we decorate our beds, it stands to reason we should decorate our homes with quilts.  Right?

Here's my version.  And you know, I just had to try the hexagon for my first attempt. It was  a little tricky but once I got it straight in my head it was clear sailing...after all , you make six individual little quilts , all the same design and then have fun. I just hope no one decides to use them as coasters...
The interesting thing about this is the colours are not true in these pictures and I would have sworn they would be...ah well, you get the idea.
This will probably be the coffee table quilt's home for a little while ....just until I get another design in my head and try that.  If you're wondering what's sitting on top...that is a pewter bust of an RCMP officer in full uniform...it was a gift to my DH on his retirement by the other District Commanders in the province...guess, like me, they liked him.
