I really have been quilting.

I've been plugging away at my "single" sized quilt. The one that will give me that extra warmth that DH does not want in the winter time. I have two more plates to applique and thirteen more small plates to fill in the cornerstones.  Plus a wide border with some appliqued vines and leaves....my favourite finish for any quilt.

I've also added to this quilt top. I usually make two squares at a time. I pick out a fabric that I haven't used for a while , cut a couple of squares and use the technique to make the pattern. It's really simple once you make a couple.  Good thing, too. I want to get it down pat before quilt guild starts up again.  Looks like myself and another lady are doing the programme again this coming year.  Since I took it on last year without any preparation, I felt a little inadequate...don't want that to happen again this year.

And....this is the half way point of the quilt in the frame. I must say , I thought I would get really annoyed with the feather pattern I had traced in the blank squares since it was a bit fussy for quilting. But I am enjoying it...surprise, surprise! I'm not certain how I will bind this one. I usually use a scrappy border on scrappy quilts, but this one kind of lends itself to a single colour. It will be interesting to see what colour I decide on.

Here's Tigger waiting expectantly for me to start the treadmill for her. She's a very active little girl. She already had a half hour of intensive 'catch the ball' before my turn on the treadmill and still she wants more activity. I'd like to note here that Faith runs out the first toss to as far as the ball goes, stands there and watches Tigger chase the ball. No sirree, no catch for miss priss.
After Tigger calmed down from the catch game, she and Faith guarded me diligently while I walked the treadmill. After all, those vicious mourning doves might come inside and attack. And heaven help us if the blue jays ever revolt.  ;)
