Quilts I Use, Quilts I don't Use.
Rio, the newest love in our life, has it pretty good. Here she is taking a nap this afternoon on our bed. The quilt she is sleeping on has no name. I thought about calling it Chinese Checkers because it reminded me of that game we used to play as kids. It's one of those quilts I did to keep me occupied...I get bored easily. It is completely hand pieced and hand quilted..it does not have a label...I know, ten lashes with a wet noodle. It is one of the many quilts that I actually use....probably because I don't like it anymore. I enjoyed making it, after all, scrappys are my favorite. The ones I really like are stored in a cabinet downstairs in my sewing room..Stupid when you think about it, but I guess it comes from my mom who always put "good" things away . Rio doesn't care one way or the other, she'll nap anywhere when she's not playing, going for walks, herding us, chasing the ball, chewing on her new toys or eating. Ain't life grand?
Ahhhhhhhhhhh priceless.
ReplyDeleteCute puppy...gorgeous quilt. Trish
ReplyDeleteRio has found a good home, and she would fit right in with my girls too, LOL! Your quilt is lovely, and I know what you mean about "putting the good stuff" away! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThat is an absolutely GORGEOUS quilt!! Did you make the pattern up yourself?!?! I would love to have that pattern... That's one that should definitely be shared - i love it!
ReplyDeleteLooks like that cute new puppy at your house has settled right in and made herself at home! A picture of perfect comfort - and the quilt is beautiful. Carol

ReplyDeleteChinese Checkers is the perfect name for this quilt. I love it! Rio is pretty special too!!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get that pattern. I love it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Rio and lovely quilt too. I think you thought up a great name. I'm in awe of you hand piecing it.
ReplyDeleteI love this Chinese Checker Quilt and would love to make one someday - what a great way to use up scraps - but it would take me forever. Maybe I should start now! We always played Chinese Checkers with my Granny. I am married to an ex member as well and we farm north of Edmonton. Were you ever stationed in BC? There were some fellas from NB in my husband's troop. What year did your hubby go through training? Sunshine always
