Practise hasn't made perfect yet by a long shot! I machine quilted this table topper and I was brave(take that to mean stupid) enough to use a blue thread that was completely noticeable. You will notice that the picture is not a close up....I'm not a complete idiot...just a partial one. My machine quilting is really poor....but on the bright side it started to improve by the time I finished this topper. There is hope for me yet.
I do like the pattern that emerged on the back..now if I had only done some really good quilting...then you would see a close up.....don't hold your breath waiting though...I've discovered something about machine quilting....you need to practise more than I realized...

ReplyDeleteHey there Ducky! I see a nice plug for your Blog on the CQA blog..way to go!!
ReplyDeletevery few people will ever look at it as closely as you do when you're quilting it. I love the design you've created on the back.(popped over from the CQA blog)
ReplyDeleteI like the friendly nature of your blog. Beautiful work. I would like to try the balsam tips in a sachet but now I guess I have to wait until spring.
ReplyDeleteThe picture of your grandmothers hand crank sewing machine is interesting as I have been wanting to see one. Have you ever tried sewing with it? I guess you must crank and feed the material with only the left hand?
Hey, it looks so nice. I made that pattern too. I really like it. I'm making a second. I know my second one will be better than the first.
