I love the dimensional effect that can be achieved by colour placement. I drafted a wedge...after searching all my pattern books AND the internet and finding nada...just so I could try this design. I want to have something a little different to hang in our bedroom and since it will be behind the headboard it will be seen from a distance, ergo...a dimensional wall hanging would be just the ticket. I made a minor booboo on my first draft..that ended up in the trash and a lesson learned ...measure twice! Now I have to decide how big Iwant this wall hanging to be...
In between drafting errors and day to day interruptions(housework, meals, etc..) I made some more Dear Dorothy Jane squares. Not sure what number I am at right now...close to 180, I think.. I put together a stack of patterns that Iwant to do and I'm just working through the pile. I will probably end up with more than I need but that's ok...will give me some leeway when deciding what goes where. Next...after the squares are done will be the sashing and cornerstones. Good thing I don't mind the tedious aspect of putting together a top. This one will be mostly machine pieced however, it will be hand quilted so I can say it's mostly hand worked.
I tried to upload a picture of Tigger being her most silly but for some reason after I upload a couple of pictures the programme won't let me go back for more...maybe next time. We are counting down the days until our Sheltie Faith comes to live with us. It will be either the 25th or the 26th...either way, we are really excited.
Your geometric quilt is really pretty. I like the movement in it.
ReplyDeleteI think it is funny that you call housework and making meals, interruptions!
Your dear Jane is wonderful...and that first one you are trying to do...amazing....
