Tigger isn't sure either. I've added corners (for want of a better term) to my Hollow cubes . I have a hard time with the uneven edges so I decided to even it up and charcoal seemed most appropriate. I'm not sure if I will add any more borders to it.
If I do it will probably be a jewel tone...maybe red. I'm still fascinated with the 3D effect. What would smaller cubes in the corners and borders of charcoal do to it?
I like the 3D effect to....its pretty......... I think any color you chose will work. Trish
ReplyDeleteJust looking at this amazes me at what can be done with some fabric and thread! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteLove, love , love it...I understand you have to square it up...but I think I would put a little something in one corner....maybe one tilted block...I know how hard it is to step "out of the box" LOL
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt. I came over to your blog after you commented on one of my posts of our trip to Oregon. Thanks for visiting! I'm always looking for more quilters in Canada, wish I could meet them all in person, but really enjoy the stories and inspiration via blog-land. I'll be following and look forward to learning from your expertise.
ReplyDeleteThis is cool. Maybe in the corners you could just use one third of a block, the diamond with triangles inside, and set it at an angle so it is pointing at your awesome squares ... I don't even know if this can be done, but it is fun to think of possibilities ... I think the designing aspect of quilting is the most fun! It will be a beautiful quilt whatever you choose!
ReplyDeleteI love mathy type of quilts too. I attended a lecture last year at UNB by a professor of Math from Alberta who presented lots of interesting math quilts. I'm sure this was one of them. I like that you put corners on them.
ReplyDeleteIt's great! Excellent. Can't wait to read more from you.
