This is what I finally decided what to do with "Dear Dorothy Jane"...DH installed the rod..perfectly centered , of course, and we hung "Dorothy Jane". she looks a little blah...yeah, I said it....but she does...really. The walls are too light and she looks like wallpaper and that was not my intent. I want it to warm the room and I know that if I put some colour on the walls it will be more appropriate.
To that end, this is the color that I absolutely love....dark blue. My sweet baboo said he will paint the room any colour I want and since I do not trust myself with color I am in a dilemma. Do I go bold or do I stick with my usual safe neutrals? If I go into a neutral zone I will probably go with a warm color like taupe or a green. Oh, what is a girl supposed to do....poor me.
I though you might get a kick out of seeing what my Tigger likes to do. She loves yogurt, especially fruited yogurt and will do a mighty fine jig if she gets some. She can stick that pointed nose right into the dish and lick til it is clean. Mind you, she has to have her face washed after...but I don't think she minds that at all.

Oh I know how you feel....I hate to make decisions about paint....so afraid of taking a risk..but I really think the blue would be lovely; make the quilt jump out at you...it is an adorable quilt...and worse thing could happen; you hate it; you paint it again...right???
I really like the idea of using the quilt behind the bed. I like the darker blue color, and even if it's just on the one wall, I think it will give a beautiful background for the quilt. I have to wash my face too when I lick the yoghert out of the container! tee hee. Are you coming for a visit to our quilt show at the end of April?
I like colour myself so go with that blue if you hate it I am sure the man will repaint it again coz he loves you so much lol
I like that you put it behind the bed...I like it.... like it is....I don't care for dark colors so I'm of no help to you...I don't think you can go wrong with what ever color you chose. Trish
We had a room painted in a dark blue and it made it really dark in there but it was a small room. You could always start by having a feature wall for behind the quilt and then it's easily changed if you don't like it. I love the quilt and the one on the bed is gorgeous too.
How about painting just the wall behind the bed in the blue. This would be the accent wall in your room and would set of the quilt beautifully. That way the whole room doesn't have to be painted in the dark color.
