Something different for me.

Here's the Dresden Plate I showed you last time.  This time , however, it is bound.  What makes this so significant for me is the fact that normally I sew the binding on the front, flip the quilt over and finish binding by hand.  Takes 4 to 5 hours of constant stitching. Actually, my favourite part of quilting, especially on a cold, snowy night.

Tonight , just so you know. It took me less than an hour to bind this.  I sewed the binding on the back....then flipped it over and sewed it on the front by MACHINE with my new binding foot for my Pfaff. Not totally sure that I will do this again.  If I was to put a quilt in a show to be judged, I definitely would not use the binding foot. However, this  pain in the patootie is going on my bed and will be used as "just a quilt" so I am not being so very fussy.
I discovered that I actually like the back of this quilt...I like the sunflower look of the quilting.  Maybe it will get reversed now and then.  You just never know these things.

I love this neutral quilt. And just look at all that hand quilting. Love it. I use that Pfaff binding foot all the time. The more you use it, the better you get. I think I my favorite foot.
