Patriotism is alive and well.

I've always admired the Americans and how patriotic they are regarding their flag. They display it with great pride and protect it so carefully. I believe it is something, we, as Canadians, should also do.  When the opportunity to make this quilt in a class came along I jumped at the chance.  Not only was it a fun day I got my patriotism on and now have my own flag displaying to do.  Of course, I still have to machine quilt it..yea, more practise to make perfection...

I'm currently quilting my ....not sure what I am going to call this one.....in the big frame and by hand.  Love to make feathers and here you can see I've put them in the light portion of the log cabin  centre.

In the next picture  you can see the shadow quilting I am doing.  Took absolutely forever to do the border along the front of the quilt.  But once it was done the other quilting seemed to go rather quickly.  I am hoping to get it done before the end of March so I can put another one in to quilt over the summer months and then have three bed sized quilts to put in our quilt show in September.

This is my saddle chair  DDaughter gave it to me for Christmas and I love it.  Because the saddle seat is tilted forward it forces you to tilt your pelvis and put the strain on your upper thighs and not your lower back.  I can quilt for hours again...that is, if the fingers don't get too sore. I'm not sure where she got it but I can tell you right now it was a very thoughtful and welcome gift...

Oh I like the idea of the saddle chair. I love your quilt; and agree that we Canadians need to do more in this way. Can I ask if there is a link to a pattern? I just love this!!
