Blue work Babies

I love to embroider..it's one of my favourite past times when I am not quilting.  I also love to see something I've drafted come to fruition, this little quilt hit both those marks.  It is a crib sized quilt...( I will probably add another border, just to make it a little bigger)....that I have done before...not the exact patterns, just the general layout.  It's kind of old-fashioned. A lot like myself..I like old things(DH would say "that's a good thing")
this pattern and the next picture are the ones I like the best...I guess it is because it reminds me of our daughters when they were small....many, many years ago...more than they would like to admit.
It didn't take me long to do these. I hate to watch television without something in my hands to work on...so little time  to waste these days.
This was taken from our deck. The farmer that lives below us on the hill just baled the hay and it got me to thinking about how much I love living here. There is always something happening...farm life....I had not experienced it in any way and it fascinates me how the weather determines the success and...heavens forbid the failure of crops. I also got to wondering what the bob-o-links would do now that the long grass is gone. Wonder if we will still hear their song.
This is a bit of whimsy that I bought this spring. It's an LED bug jar...it was on sale so I indulged. Had it outside for a while and it wasn't working...figured  they saw me coming. Thought maybe it wasn't getting enough sun to run the solar panel and put it on the railing for a while...then...late one night I had an epiphany...got out of bed and brought the jar in, unscrewed the lid and flicked the ON/OFF button....DOH!!!!  Now I have five fireflies in a jar....interestingly enough , I have loads of the real things  outside...they just don't stay still and I really don't want to put them in a jar.
