At last, back to quilting.

I've had a lot of interruptions these days. DH decided we needed some colour in our basement...that is, his colours. I was happy with the neutral colours  but he decided it was time to paint and to tell you the truth, when he wants to paint, I want him to paint. I'm getting used to the colours...don't ask.

These are the latest squares made for my Dear Dorothy Jane. Some of them are from the Dear Jane blocks but some of them I drafted because they appealed to me. It will be interesting to see them all put together. The squares on the left are pieced with the corner stones and sashing I am going to use. I plan on adding a 4.5 inch border with applique as well...just can't resist.

This is the other thing that has been on going around here for the last 3 weeks. We've been a whole year without a deck and although we didn't miss it during the winter, we would have loved to have it this past summer. Unfortunately, our builder was booked solid and could only get to us this past month. He does really good work and we are delighted with the construction. This is on the second story of our home and as a result required extra support. It is solid! We'll enjoy it next summer...

And this is the other reason I've been too busy to blog. Our quilt show was held last weekend. This show is not judged with the exception of People's Choice and here is my ribbon. I am sooo pleased.  This is Sylvia's Stars. It's nice to really like your quilts yourself , after all, you wouldn't do them if you didn't,  but it is a bonus  when others do too.
Last but not lease, this is another reason I have been busy. With all the activity around here and my not being around as much, someone has been feeling a little separation anxiety. I've been spending more time with Tigger...she was fretful while the workers were here, upset that I was busy for 3 days and now DH is in the woods...hunting , he says...not that I see any critters when he comes home....and poor Tigger is (pardon my pun) dogging my footsteps. At the moment she is at my feet, chewing lustily on a  rawhide bone.
Until next time......keep on keepin' on.

Sylvia's Stars is probably the nicest quilt I have ever seen Gail. Congratulations on the ribbon. You definitely should be proud of yourself. Lucy

Congratulations on the ribbon. I went to the show and saw it and all the other great stuff you've made. I really liked the scarecrow wallhanging you made too. I was really impressed with the show -- between it and the KV show, I can't get over how much interest and talent regarding quilting there is around here. Riel
