Quilt Show Today

This wallhanging is called The Boss. It was part of a challenge the Kennebecasis Quilt Guild had ..It tickled my funny bone. Her boxtop was for chicken fingers and the colours of the boxtop had to be used in her quilt...I just loved this guy...he suited his name.

This was another of the challenge quits.  Another quilter with a sense of humour and definitely talented.

Dear Jane... of course, I had to take a picture of this one since , anyone that has checked out my latest posts will know why.  I am motivated now , more than ever, to get my heinnie in gear and finish my Dear Dorothy Jane.....

This won Best in Show....and if the pictures did it justice you would understand why. It is Saint George slaying the dragon....and the quilting is phenomenal...absoultely amazing. Judy LeCleu is extraordinary...talented, funny and very, very creative.

I am an absolute sucker for Grandmother's flower garden in English paper piecing and this was no exception.  I'm a hand piecer, hand quilter and was totally blown away by this quilt.  I voted my People's Choice  ballot with this one.  I just loved it....I am sooooo traditional.

This is one of those quilts that makes you stop and take a second look. Black background and solids...not a combination I usually am drawn to, but this one was so very pretty, I stood, camera ready, for ages to get a photo without a white head in front of it or a couple of white heads discussing this quilt. It was worth it..extremely well done.

I took many more pictures but that will probably be all I will post...the rest of my pictures were of really interesting quilts that just may end up in my collection....after I make them myself.  The KV show is always a great show but this year they out did themselves...lots of quilts, lots of interesting things to look at, challenges and such. They also have a Quilter's Walk that is a load of fun and raises funds for them. You buy a bunch of tickets and put them in containers in front of a baskets with goodies in them...lots of chances to win great prizes.

Thanks for sharing the photos. I love them all. Like you I am a hand piecer, quilter, appliquer' etc...all those fun things. I especially love the Dear Jane and it really has inspired me to drag my box out and work on it. Hope mine looks that good :-)

That lone star is pretty special , but my favorite is the grandmothers garden.
