My Dear Jane

I've been occupied helping DH do some more work on organizing my sewing room(feel a little pretentious calling it a studio) and I put one of my UFO's in the quilt frame in the hopes of selling it at our quilt show at the end of the month...I'll post a picture when I've got it bound.  To get back on track I drafted a couple more Dear Jane squares and just to show that I finished the alphabet, since I did them all in order here's the Zee or Zed, depending on where you live.
I've given some thought to my Dear Jane...since I am drafting some of my favourite patterns to use and not really adhering strictly to the true Dear Jane patterns, I feel justified in changing the name of my quilt when it is finished. In honor of my Mom, whose name was Dorothy Jane, I intend to call it "My Dear Dorothy Jane". She saw only one of my quilts...it was a grandmother's fan that I gave her and my Dad for Christmas one year. She would never use it.."it was too good for everyday use." Our daughter now has it and I hope that she uses it regularly. She's a quilter and understands that quilts, like pearls, get better with age.

On a side note, paper piecing and I have come to terms. I am no longer afraid of it. I have learned a lot about it and can honestly say, I think I like it. Now I regret giving away all those paper piecing patterns.  Darn!!

I don't know, I am still not a fan of paper pieceing but maybe one day I will get to understand it as you do.

I would like to try paper piecing one day...so it's on my "TO DO" list.

I have not done much paper piecing, but didn't mind it. Lately I have found myself sewing anything but quilts. I can't wait to see the entire Dear Jane.
