Retirement Memories.

This is my present to my husband on his retirement after 39 years with the RCMP. Each portion of the quilt represents some aspect of his career and, of course, our family. I put this together before I discovered Bubble Jet and would never wash this quilt...probably dry clean if necessary. I had a lot of fun making it and hiding it from him during the process.  We used to keep it displayed at our previous home but this house is not conducive to displaying quilts...must change that.

Found you after reading Quilting in my Pyjamas. I am so in awe of the quilt you made for your husband. How wonderful that you and others in your family had a part of it. I am sure that your husband is proud to have such a wonderful gift. I look forward to following your blog and seeing more wonderful work. By the way - I am and Army brat and both my parents worked in Real Estate after my father retired! I was their secretary for a few years!

Hey there Quilting Queen, and thanks for stopping by my blog and taking the time to leave me such a lovely a comment.

I'm over here snooping at your stuff. Congratulations on your blog. Your quilting is phenomenal. I could only aspire to be as good at intricate details as you are one of these days. How lovely that so many members of your family were able to contribute to your husbands quilt.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what else you come up with as I follow your quilting adventures.

This is truly a work of love! I would have it dry cleaned sparingly as apparently dry cleaning can harm threads or some such thing.
Hand quilting is not my forte, but I was visiting Comfort Cove and found another Canadian blogger.
You do lovely work.

This is really a treasure. I love the mountain army insignia blocks and the winding flying geese. Thanks for commenting on my blog about the kdg quilt. One of the kids in the class will get to take it home at the end of the year. I'm adding you to my reading list. Thanks again.
