Let them eat Cake!

It's not my birthday, but it is pretty close. Friends from our previous home town decided today would be a good day to celebrate. They came to town for breakfast (at our fav. restaurant) and then they came to our home for dessert...yes, you can have dessert after breakfast..there is no hard and fast rule. My hubby made the cake on the right ..he's been making  birthday cakes for me for 40 years...what a guy! and the one on the left was made by one of the "girls". The other "girl" brought yummy munchies and we had a great visit. The hubbies came too ...they were mainly for decoration since we dispensed with candles a long , long time ago. It was a great day...full of wonderful stories, lots of tall tales and even a few lies...love them all and miss them terribly. My birthday will be anti-climatic but that's ok, I stopped celebrating them when I turned 50.

Today is my birthday- when is yours, Aries girl? This is my first birthday with no kids at home - not as exciting! :(
I made a frozen Chocolate Cheesecake - yummy, and it won't get stale before the two of us get it all eaten...

Awwww your husband sounds like a sweetheart (and I agree there is no hard and fast rule for eating desserts - I often eat biscuits for breakfast)

I hope you enjoy your birthday immensely. I started counting backwards at 40. This year I'm going to be 36 again.

At our recent sister in law retreat, we ate "Breakfast Cheesecake"!!!! It was as delicious as it sounds and is easy to make. (I'll post the recipe later this week.)Birthdays are the best holiday all year!
