Design Wall At Last

Last night some friends thought they would like to see some of my quilts. That in itself was not a problem...they are scattered about the house and easily accessible. However, the "keepers" that don't get used are in a cabinet in my sewing room. Those are the ones that are just for looking at..the ones that will probably never see a bed other than to be spread out so I can ask myself.." now why did I make that, it's not really practical." Anyway, having anyone see my "hoarder wannabe" room forced me to tidy. You know the kind...stuff things in a tote box and hope you don't need it for a few months, and jam small things behind larger things so you'll probably never find it again. Well, in the process of doing that I moved some "stuff" and found my piece of flannel that I use for my design wall. I commandeered my husbands staple gun and went to work...staples don't hurt gyprock, trust me. Voila...I now have my design wall back and it is at the end of the room so I can stand back and have a good look. Got my klosjes up there...thought I had only 80 but there it is, that stray little fella...gonna have to make some more so it won't get lonely.

I like the design wall...I need to make me one.I also know all about tote boxes and hideing things away and not remembering what is in them... I have a closet full of boxes and totes and bags like that.Trish

Thanks so much for visiting my blog! Ain't blogging great? Seriously, I so enjoy doing it and also visiting all the other fun blogs. Love all the kloesjes (I think I am beginning to remember how to spell it) you have on your wall. Lots of the girls are doing them and they do look like fun. There's also a teeny tiny little basket quilt I see that I like. I won't ever be able to live long enough to do everything I want!

Your design wall is a great and isn't it looks good with all the klosjes up there. I wish I had three design walls, I'm sure they'd all get used.

I love your blocks. They look good on your design wall. Might have to hint around to my hubby for one since Mother's Day is around the corner. Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and following. It was neat to see that you are just in Sussex, so close by! The quilts on your header photo are gorgeous. I am very new to quilting but am loving it. I'll peek in again.

Nice big area for your design wall. I use our spare bed as a design wall since I don't have a big empty wall space. Love all your Klosjes. Use that extra one for your label. You do label, don't you?

Like your design wall, my basement is not gyp-rock so I can not use a staple gun .I don't really have any free wall space. I have been thinking of different things to do to get some type of design wall .First thought a flannel sheet on a curtain rod , that I could take down.I still may do something like that . But I do have a cabinet for fabric that also is a room divider, so I thought maybe that would work. I am going to do some measuring and see.
I am have enough scrap fabric to do for the rest of my life I think. Ever so often it has to gone through and re-organized. Fortunately my Mom is here to help me.She is appalled though to see how I stuff things here there and every where .

Thanks for your comments on my blog. I hope to have a design wall in our new place in Idaho. There's no room for one here and the floor is often a temporary solution - until kids walk on it.

BEAUTIFUL work. I love applique and I love the photo of your quilts. I understand about those that are not to be used.
